In Spain: Granada, Sevilla, Barcelona and Madrid are all entirely worth seeing. The Alhambra is also mind blowing.

In Portugal: Well, hell, the whole country is beautiful! If I had to choose one, though, I would say go to the Andalucia.

Question by Kim Jaejoong: How can i get from Portugal with airplane to South Korea?
I’;m not even from Portugal but this is where i stay for the moment.I looked at their airline company TAP but there is not even a map with the voos.
Any sugestions and how much it costs and all?
I want serious answers please.

Best answer:

Answer by Michael K
You cannot fly with TAP Air Portugal direct, so look into Air France (via Paris), TAP connecting to Asiana (via London or Frankfurt), KLM (via Amsterdam) or Lufthansa (via Munich or Frankfurt).

Without knowing when exactly you want to travel, nobody can give you a price. Random dates in September are bringing up fares of £751.90 with Air France, which is equivalent to €899.90. To me, that seems a little on the steep side, but shop around and you might save a little.

EDIT: Further to Diogo’s reply, I would suggest that you do not travel with a low cost airline to one European city, before connecting to another Seoul-bound flight. Low cost airlines will not allow you to connect to your next flight, so you will face the hassle of having to collect your baggage and then heading back to check-in again, plus I am not convinced you will make much of a saving. Book your trip on one booking and have your bags checked all the way to Seoul. Also, if you travel on one booking and your first flight is delayed or cancelled, the airlines will look after you. If you choose to book separately (be it with a low cost airline or not) and something happens, resulting in you missing the onward flight, you will most likely have to book another, which will be extremely expensive at the last minute.

Also, Diogo’s price seems to have been plucked out of thing air. My first search of Expedia – using random dates – brought up that fare for a little under €800.. very nearly half what Diogo “guesses”.

Why are people like Deco and Kevin Pietersen allowed to represent Portugal and English via citizenship rights?

August 26th, 2010 Posted in portugal | 4 Comments »

Question by Online @ Yahoo Answers: Why are people like Deco and Kevin Pietersen allowed to represent Portugal and English via citizenship rights?
Surely you need to be born in a country to be able to represent it at international level. Deco a Brazilian has represented Portugal beause he qualified for ‘em by gaining citizenship same with Pietersen, he is South African and became eligable for England?

Best answer:

Answer by Føroyar Villa
I think you should have to be born in that country to play for them.
Or have been a citizen since you was 1 years old or less and both parents are from that country (as a very small miniority are born on holiday).

I can’t believe Poland have a brazilian playing for them, when you see that you know it’s wrong. Just because he’s not good enough to play for his own country, he plays for them instead. He’s probably only lived their for a few years, so does that make him Polish? Nope

What’s the difference between Brazilian portuguese and Portugal portuguese?

August 24th, 2010 Posted in portugal | 4 Comments »

Question by confused: What’s the difference between Brazilian portuguese and Portugal portuguese?
I was told that Brazilian portuguese is a more beautiful language compared to the portugese spoken in Portugal.

Best answer:

Answer by fiel2u43v3r
There’s some diferences in pronunciation (like the British and the American English), mostly “caused” because lots of different people arrived in Brazil, like the africans, the italians, the germans, the polish, the french etc. There’s also differences in the writing, that had probably been “deleted” with the 2008 Grammatical Treat. There’s also different words. “Lifeguard” is “Salva-Vidas” in Brazilian portuguese and “Banheiro” (that mean bathroom in brazilian portuguese) in Portuguese from Portugal.

Also, in Brazil there’s different accents, like the one from Rio Grande do Sul (the southeast state, german and italian influence), from the Northeast (influenced by the portugueses and the dutchs) and the one from Rio de Janeiro (native and portuguese influence).
