Question by alangc: What do I need to leave from USA to Portugal as an American Citizen?
Hello, I need to leave from the US to Portugal, I have a way to arrange my stay there, my question is, what do I need to board the flight in the US Airport? It is a 6 month trip to Portugal…
Ok, I know that I need a visa for an over 3 month stay, but I was wondering which documents I need to show to board a flight to Portugal, in the airport terminal, sorry if my question wasn’t explained thoroughly.

You don’t need a visa to Portugal but you can only stay here for 3 months, max.

Hey there! basically you don’t have to worry about anything.

You can only stay up to 3 months in Schengen space (most of Europe), so, instead of making complicated visas, you just go there with travel 3 months allowance, and then, go 1 week to Morocco on the 35 minutes ferry-boat from south Spain, and you are in Africa, out of Schengen space where you also are allowed to 3 months stay without a visa.

So after one week you’lll be allowed another 3 months in Europe. I know many people doing this.

The thing is that as no one will control either you only stay in Portugal or travel to other countries, you can basically travel to where you want.

    Easy. Doable, Legal. Good luck.

Hi, there are no special requirements in terms of the documents you will need to enter Portugal, besides your visa and passport. For europeans all that would be necessary is a EU-country ID.
